D1 Group Architects collaborated with the coworking chain operator Toong to renovate the Toong Vista Verde offices in District 2, Ho Chi Minh City developed by Singaporean Real Estate Group CapitaLand. Toong Vista Verde is built on the philosophy that a mindful approach to nature, diversity, and inclusivity can be catalytic for sustainable growth of society. Incorporating contemplative elements of contemporary art and greenery into the design scheme, we have created a refined yet dynamic environment that can foster connection and build meaningful relationships between people.
D1 treats the entire Toong Vista Verde space as a collective habitat wherein each office is a distinctive sub-territory with its own organic shape and ambiance. Each sub-territory coexists in harmony with each other while sharing the same environment.
Individuals have complete liberty to navigate the space in their own way. Movements are as free and dynamic as those of villagers walking about on the village roads, or boatmen rowing along the rivers. D1 aims to create a space that catalyzes imagination and unleashes all constraints placed on creativity.

The Toong Vista Verde also houses an herbal garden with more than 100 species. The garden features a great array of plants, their appearance, though different, complements each other to form a harmonious collection. Besides decoration purpose, the herb garden is very helpful in ameliorating the quality of the atmosphere inside the office building.
D1 designed a mini-atrium that connects the two stories of the building, and commissioned the famous contemporary artist Uu Dam Tran Nguyen to install an artwork that goes through the staircase. Titled “BREATH”, the artwork by artist Uu Dam Tran Nguyen is a colorful and lively air-kinetic installation. A well-thought-out concept, BREATH leads one’s eyes from the motorcycle installation at the reception desk over the ceiling to the staircase, passing through 800 colorful nylons, then going up to the second level where locates a small bar counter decorated with ceramic tiles in the same rainbow theme.
