Zen Valley

The project idea was derived from the reality that Da Lat's temperature is increasing due to new construction projects using too much glass in design, even when it's not necessary. In many buildings and offices, the purpose of glass is to decorate the exterior, transmit lights, and allow visual connection with the outside world - with the drawback being the greenhouse effects. Guests have to pull the curtain, turn on air conditioners to relieve the heat, this consumes a lot of energy, and emits hot air that damages the environment.
From this problem, the Zen Valley project design limits the use of glass and replaces it with tile roofs and thick, strong walls. As the building does not use air conditioning, the thick walls retain the heat, keeping guests warm during winter, while the tile roof with heat dissipation property will help decrease the summer heat. Da Lat has a cool climate all year round, the temperature is not too hot even in the summer.
The Zen Valley cafe -restaurant is located in a hillside resort complex, sharing a poetic view overlooking a valley with 30 tourists bungalows. To exploit the scenery, D1 Architectural Studio weave thin wood panels woven to form a curtain, enabling guests inside to maintain the connection with the landscape, with nature, without being restricted by the walls.
The interior space is divided into small areas to preserve a sense of privacy and tranquility for guests. The wooden details evoke a feeling of coziness and peace, so that guests can relax and reconnect with themselves.
